San Juan- A White House task force on Puerto Rico's ties with the rest of United States heard from islanders across the political spectrum on Wednesday March 3rd 

As part of a grassroots movilization and recruitment program established by an initiative of National Committeewoman Zoraida Fonalledas, the Republican Party of Puerto Rico will be conducting between March and June town hall meetings with the local Republican committees islandwide.

As the only newly elected Republican Governor and a Hispanic Leader that enjoys a clear mandate for change, Gov. Luis Fortuño is a key asset in the planning of the GOP Comeback.

The overwhelming victory of Luis Fortuño as Governor of Puerto Rico, on November 4th 2008 is a prime example that proves the broad appeal of Republican value. The difference between Fortuño and his rival, Popular Democratic Party was over 220,000 votes.  Fortuño gathered 1,025,945 votes, breaking the 1996 record for the largest electoral victory, previously held by fellow statehooder and Democratic party candidate Pedro Roselló.
